Frequently asked questions

Straight answers,
zero fine print.

We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our programs are free to participants, forever. Here's everything you need to know before you apply.

Is A4E really free?

Yes. Every cohort — Warp 1 through Warp 10, bootcamps, internships — is 100% free for accepted participants. No tuition, no fees, no materials costs. We're funded by federal appropriations (including $2.23M secured by Senator Patty Murray), private partnerships, and donors.

Who is eligible?

U.S. residents in Washington or Oregon. We prioritize underrepresented workers — Black, Latino, women, veterans, rural — but anyone committed to a tech career is welcome to apply. No degree required. No prior experience required for Warp 1.

How long does a cohort take?

Warp 1 is 1–4 weeks, self-paced remote. Warp 5 is 4 weeks in-person in Seattle. Warp 7 is 6 weeks hybrid fast-track. Warp 10 is 12 weeks (120 hours) flagship. Bootcamps run 2–4 weeks. Internships run 8–12 weeks, paid.

What credentials do I earn?

Industry certs: CompTIA (Security+, Network+, A+), AWS, Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, plus 16,000+ LinkedIn Learning courses. Warp 10 graduates leave with $14,000+ in curriculum value and a portfolio of real projects.

What if I already have a job?

Most of our participants do. Cohorts are designed around working adults — evening classes, weekend sessions, self-paced remote options. Employers increasingly sponsor staff through Warp 5 and Warp 10.

How do I apply?

Pick the cohort that fits — remote, in-person, fast-track, or flagship — and submit a 5-minute application. We'll follow up within 48 hours. Rolling admissions for Warp 1; seasonal cohorts for Warp 5/7/10.
