Your device is broken. We fix it for free.
Slow laptop, locked-out email, Wi-Fi that won't connect, phone doing something weird. A4E runs free tech support clinics for anyone in our service area — no income check, no hidden fees, no sales pitch.
Digital access shouldn't cost you a paycheck.
A single repair at a commercial store can run $150–$400 before taxes. For most of the people we serve, that's the month's rent margin. A broken laptop means a failed job application, a missed Zoom class, a disconnected family.
So we fix it. Our tech support clinics are staffed by Warp alumni, volunteer engineers, and A4E instructors — the same people who teach cybersecurity and cloud to our cohorts. Bring your device. Walk out working.
Six categories of device help — all at no cost.
Laptops & Desktops
Slow performance, startup issues, Windows/macOS crashes, storage upgrades, battery swaps, cracked screens (parts at cost, labor free), driver conflicts, BIOS recovery.
Phones & Tablets
iOS and Android setup, iCloud and Google account recovery, app crashes, storage cleanup, screen mirroring, parental controls, migrating from one phone to another.
Wi-Fi & Networking
Router setup, dead-zone diagnosis, ISP troubleshooting, mesh-network configuration, connected-device audits, and home-office networking for remote work.
Password & Account Recovery
Locked out of email, social, banking, or government portals? We'll walk you through identity verification, recovery flows, and setting up a password manager so it never happens again.
Malware & Security
Virus removal, scam-site cleanup, phishing recovery, two-factor authentication setup, browser hygiene, and a hardening walkthrough so your device is safer than when you brought it in.
Software & Setup
Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Zoom, printer setup, email migration, cloud backups, video-call troubleshooting, and general “how do I do this” coaching.
Four steps. One fixed device.
-
1Step 1
Book or Walk In
Reserve a slot online or walk into a Saturday clinic. No income verification, no membership, no paperwork beyond a first-name sign-in sheet.
-
2Step 2
Intake & Diagnosis
A technician spends 10–15 minutes understanding the issue, reproducing it, and writing a quick plan. You'll know the fix path before any work starts.
-
3Step 3
Repair or Escalation
Most issues are resolved in under 90 minutes. If parts are needed or the issue is deeper, we log it and schedule a follow-up — usually within 48 hours.
-
4Step 4
Handoff & Prevention
Before you leave, a technician walks you through what was done and shows you how to avoid it happening again. Every visit ends with a short digital-literacy mini-lesson.
Anyone in Washington or Oregon with a device that needs help.
Tech support is open to the general public in our service areas — you do not need to be enrolled in a Warp cohort, a Digital & Career Navigator participant, or any A4E program. If you can carry the device in (or dial into a Zoom), we can help.
This is a great fit if you are:
- Individuals without home internet or a working laptop
- Seniors getting comfortable with new devices
- Recent immigrants setting up their first U.S. accounts
- Working adults whose work-from-home setup keeps crashing
- Small business owners who can't afford a $200/hr IT invoice
- Students whose device is blocking them from school or work
“My laptop wouldn't turn on and I had a job interview in two days. The clinic rebuilt it on a Saturday afternoon, for free, and walked me through backing it up. I got the job.”
Tech support clinics, answered.
Is this actually free?
Yes. Labor is 100% free. If your device needs a replacement part (screen, battery, SSD), we buy it at cost — no markup — and you pay only the component price. A4E covers labor regardless.
Do I have to be a student of A4E?
No. Tech support clinics are open to the general public in Washington and Oregon. You do not need to be enrolled in any program, and we do not run income checks or require documentation.
When and where are the clinics held?
We run weekly walk-in clinics at our Bellevue office (3120 139th Ave. SE Ste. 500) and rotating pop-ups at community libraries and partner sites across King County. Virtual help is available Mon–Fri via Zoom.
Can you fix an iPhone or MacBook?
Yes. Our technicians are trained on Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android. Liquid damage and deep hardware work on Apple devices sometimes require escalation to an authorized service provider — we'll help coordinate.
What if my device can't be fixed?
If a repair isn't cost-effective, we'll tell you straight and — for participants without reliable device access — enroll you in our loaner laptop program at no cost. We've placed over 400 devices to date.
Can you recover deleted files or photos?
Sometimes. Basic recovery from local storage and cloud services is included. Deep data recovery from failed drives requires specialty tools and we'll refer you to a trusted partner if needed.
Is my data safe during the repair?
Yes. Technicians follow a strict privacy protocol — we only access what's needed to repair the issue, we never copy personal data off your device, and we wipe any temporary diagnostic logs at the end of the session.
Got a broken device? Bring it by.
Free labor. Cost-price parts. Staffed by professionals and Warp alumni. Book a slot or walk into this Saturday's clinic.
