The STAR method is what separates a rambled answer from a story that lands. We drill it with you in live mock interviews until every behavioral, technical, and panel question has a sharp, two-minute answer ready.

Why Most Interviews Get Lost

A great resume gets you in the room. A great story gets you the offer.

Behavioral interviews now make up the majority of mid- and senior-round questions at most tech employers. “Tell me about a time…” is not a casual prompt — it's a structured test, and interviewers are scoring you against a rubric.

The STAR method — Situation, Task, Action, Result — is the universally accepted framework for answering. It works because it forces clarity, keeps you under two minutes, and ends with the outcome that matters most: what you did and what changed.

The STAR Framework

Four moves. Every answer. Every time.

S — Situation

Set the scene in one sentence. Where were you, what team, what was at stake? Skip the backstory — interviewers want the anchor, not the novel.

T — Task

State what you were responsible for. One line. This is where candidates lose the interviewer by explaining team dynamics instead of owning their slice.

A — Action

What you did — not “we.” Specific, sequential, and in the first person. This is 60% of the answer and the only part that gets scored.

R — Result

The outcome, with a number if possible. Reduced time by X%, saved $Y, shipped Z on time. No result = no story. Interviewers will write a zero on their sheet.

2-Minute Discipline

We time every practice answer. Under 90 seconds feels thin. Over 2:30 feels rambling. The sweet spot is 90–130 seconds — we drill you there.

Panel & Technical Variants

STAR works for panel interviews, case studies, and even technical walkthroughs. We adapt the framework for whiteboard coding, system design, and SOC analyst scenarios.

Your Interview Prep Journey

Five sessions. One calm, prepared candidate.

  1. 1
    Step 1

    Story Bank

We help you build a bank of 8–10 STAR stories covering leadership, conflict, failure, ambiguity, and technical wins. One story bank powers dozens of questions.

  2. 2
    Step 2

    First Mock — Behavioral

A 45-minute live mock interview over Zoom or in person. Your navigator plays the hiring manager. We record it, watch it back, and tag every ramble.

  3. 3
    Step 3

Second Mock — Technical or Panel

Tailored to your target role. For tech: whiteboard, SOC tabletop, or system design. For corporate: panel simulation with three interviewers firing in turn.

  4. 4
    Step 4

    Feedback & Rewrites

You'll get a written scorecard — clarity, ownership, specificity, result strength — and a rewritten version of the three answers that need it most.

  5. 5
    Step 5

    Final Dress Rehearsal

One last mock the week before your real interview. By this point you're calm, rehearsed, and every question has a landing pad.

Who It's For

Open to anyone with an interview coming up — or one they want to earn.

Whether you have a panel scheduled next Monday or you're still building the resume that gets you there, interview prep is free, open, and ready when you are. No prior experience, no minimum income, no strings attached.

This is a great fit if you are:

  • First interview ever — nervous and want structure
  • Shifting industries and need behavioral framing
  • Interviewing for a first tech role after a Warp cohort
  • A senior candidate who hasn't interviewed in a decade
  • Veterans translating operational experience to civilian roles
  • Anyone who has been “close but no offer” too many times

“I used to freeze on behavioral questions. After four mocks with my navigator, I walked into a panel interview, nailed every STAR story, and had an offer the next morning.”

Common Questions

Interview prep, answered.

What's the STAR method, exactly?

STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action, Result — a four-part framework for answering behavioral interview questions. It keeps you structured, owns your contribution, and ends with an outcome. It's the most widely used framework in corporate hiring.

Can you help with technical interviews too?

Yes. We run technical mocks for cybersecurity (SOC tabletops, incident response), cloud (AWS/Azure whiteboard), data analytics (SQL live-coding), and software development (algorithmic questions). Your navigator matches the mock to your target role.

How many sessions do I get?

Most participants do 3–5 sessions across two or three weeks. If you have a scheduled interview, we'll compress the timeline. If you're prepping long-term, we pace it out. Sessions are always free.

Do you record the mocks?

Only if you want us to. Recording is powerful because you see your own fillers, pacing, and body language — but it's always your choice, and recordings are never shared.

What if I bomb during the mock?

Good. That's the whole point. Bombing in a mock is free data. Bombing in a real interview costs you the job. Every rough answer becomes a coaching note and a better version.

Do you cover salary negotiation too?

Yes — as a bonus session once an offer is on the table. We'll help you counter with data, script the conversation, and avoid common mistakes like accepting too quickly.

Interview coming up? Let's run the mock.

Free. Live. Scored. Book your first mock and we'll have you behavioral-ready in a week.
